The train also stops at Cuenca, Albacete and Villena along the way.

Barcelona to Alicante

Since 2011, the AVE Barcelona to Murcia high speed rail line is being built and scheduled to open late 2016/early 2017. This is expected to cut travel speeds between Alicante and Barcelona to three hours with train speeds of up to 350 km/h.

Every passenger ticket has a luggage allowance of two pieces of stowed luggage and one piece of carry-on luggage.

You can expect passport and ticket checks at the station before the train leaves and the train is non-smoking. The platform closes 2 minutes before the train leaves, so avoid running late.
